Search My WebSite

Hi Folks,

Is there a way to Add a Custom Search to my WebPage, so that User can Search the particular thing they want from my website.

plz note i dont mean "custom google search".

My website is a Movie site and i want to add Search Option, so that people can Search Movies which are there in my Website.

Hello every body; As per the recommendation of c-designer in this series of threads, I used freefind.com to insert a search tool on my website. I have had hard time making the search engine on my website work. I followed every single step to add it. I also included all the URLs of all pages of my website in the search building steps.

However, the search box appeared on my site after copying its HTML seems to recognize none of the parts of the site. Why is this happening? I'm sure someone will answer my question.

HELLO Solotekle,

Do the following steps and your search will work.

Login to FreeFind.com
Go to ADMIN - Change URL. Give the address of ur URL followed by /.

Then go to BUILD INDEX and Click Index Now. Click Finish to start ur indexing .

After index is complete a mail will come to ur mail id Registered, with the LOG details.

After that Ur Search will work.

Thanks, Avi24nash for the wonderful reply. I tried your way of making the search tool work, but it didn't work out for me. I also want to let everybody know that when using freefind.com as a power, changing the URL of a site to be indexed from "username.hpage.com" format to "username.hpage.co.in" format activates the search engine. Furthermore, the former can still be used as the address of the website as well.
